Meet Our Team

  • MS. yanyan - MINISTRY Director

I started my early childhood education career in 2009 in the Fireflies classroom at Honolulu Christian Preschool. Since then, I have been a preschool teacher and director, teacher trainer, college instructor, and assistant director of an early education program at a university. My family attends Honolulu Christian Church and leads worship on certain Sundays for the Japanese and English congregations. Since learning about Montessori education, I have found the approach closely aligned with Christian values. I prayed for an opportunity to combine the two to create an optimal learning environment for young children. I thank God for answering my prayer and giving me an opportunity to serve in this special ministry again.

  • Ms. Julia - Montessori Teacher & Administrative coordinator

I am honored to serve at Honolulu Christian Preschool and to support young children as they grow in confidence, independence, and faith. I have more than a decade of experience in early childhood education, including teaching in both Montessori and traditional preschool settings. I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Chaminade University of Honolulu and hold an American Montessori Society Early Childhood credential. I am passionate about creating a loving, peaceful, and engaging classroom where each child feels valued and inspired to learn. I attend Honolulu Christian Church on Sundays and am grateful for the opportunity to serve children and families through this special ministry.

  • MS. tiffany - montessori teacher

I am honored to be part of the Honolulu Christian Preschool community and to support young children during these important years of growth and discovery. I graduated from Chaminade University of Honolulu with a Master of Arts in Teaching and hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I am passionate about early childhood education because I believe these formative years lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. I enjoy creating a nurturing and engaging environment where children feel safe to explore, develop independence, build meaningful relationships, and discover the joy of learning. Through hands-on experiences, creative play, and purposeful guidance, I strive to support each child's social, emotional, and academic development while honoring their unique gifts and potential.

  • MS. kelma - teacher's aide

I am a longtime member of Honolulu Christian Church along with my family and serve with the church's Sunday school ministry. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication - Public Relations, from the Universidade Católica de Pernambuco. I believe that early childhood education should be combined with biblical values  and principles and that good communication is essential for building health relationships. I am thoughtful and observant, always paying close attention to each child's needs, interests, and growth. I look forward to building warm and meaningful relationships with every child and family who comes to Honolulu Christian Preschool.

  • Uncle Marc - Preschool Minister

Worship has always been a passion of mine. I graduated from Liberty University with a Doctor of Ministry, a Master of Arts in Theology, and a Master of Divinity. I currently serve as the worship leader for the Japanese congregation at Honolulu Christian Church and as a guest preacher for the Japanese congregation at West Oahu Christian Church.

I am grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with the children at Honolulu Christian Preschool, where I lead them in worship, prayer, and Bible lessons, helping them discover God's love and learn the truths of His Word in ways that are meaningful and engaging for young children.

In addition to leading weekly chapel, I also enjoy serving as a classroom substitute when needed. It is a blessing to be part of a school community where children are nurtured in faith, character, and a love for learning, and where I have the opportunity to walk alongside them as they grow in their understanding of God.
