News from Guinea….
Hello from Kent and Marie….
Well, it's back to Guinea. Kent arrived the end of September, and Marie is due
to arrive October 17. Here we go again. Fortunately, the political climate in
Guinea is more stable. People are waiting for a new President, which means they
are going to keep the current one as long as he lives. Life here is still very
difficult, and the people are still very poor. They are long-suffering.
This will be our last year of heavy work in Guinea. We have decided to "get
some roots" after these years of working and living in several places at once.
It will be a full year.
Kent had a wonderful gift from God on Friday, October 12. The Minister of
Health signed all the papers necessary for Hope Clinic. Kent has spend many
hours writing and working on approval. Hope is now able to function in all the
capacities necessary to help the poor with dental, medical, and surgical issues.
What a wonderful thing. Another great gift was to see how well Hope Staff
has been handling the load and adapting to the changing environment of more
people and staff. We are now seeing almost 50 patients perr day, and have a
full staff including a surgeon coming to Hope in October. Wow. What an answer
to prayer and work.
Marie will be very busy. She is leading a team of sixteen people to remodel the
CMA Guesthouse in Conakry. She also will be leading a medical team in November
to open a new frontier among people who have nothing. She'll be working with
another mission to help them get started. We will also be hosting volunteers
who are coming to help us with dental, xray, building, electricity, and all the
rest. Not a minute left in our day.
Would you pray for us and keep us in mind?
